323 Sqn Top the League at Wing 5-a-side

323 (Epsom & Ewell) Squadron topped the leagues to take away the Trophy at Surrey Wing's Inter-Squadron five-a-side football competition on Sunday.  This was a clear victory after winning both the junior and senior boys competitions.



323's junior boys team beat 1034 (Esher) Detached Flight in the final to secure the first trophy, with the senior boys beating 1349 (Woking) Squadron to win their competition, after beating 1075 (Camberley) Squadron in the Semi-finals.  1034 (Surbiton) Squadron won the third place play-offs to take the bronze in the Junior Boys category, with 261 (Guildford) Squadron sporting some very colourful socks winning the senior boys play-off to snatch the bronze away from 1075.

The girls competition was equally hard fought with 450 (Kenley) Squadron taking the trophy after beating 328 (Kingston upon Thames) Squadron in the final.  1034 (Esher) DF took the bronze beating 1075 (Camberley) Squadron in the third place play-offs.

Squadron Leader Ratcliffe, The Wing Sports Officer commented, "It was good to see another successful sporting event improving on last year's competition.  The cadets played well and did their Squadron's proud.  It was also pleasing to see different squadrons take the prizes this year."
